I saw the power of having a mentor and an example in my life—and I hope to pay that forward. I want to help people who have potential but don’t have anyone who believes in them.

The only reason I am where I am today is because ACHPP saw potential in me.

I saw the power of having a mentor and an example in my life—and I hope to pay that forward. I want to help people who have potential but don’t have anyone who believes in them.

I grew up in a low-income, immigrant farming community. My parents set a good example of what it looks like to work hard, but there were a lot of things that could have prevented me from having a better future. Now, I have huge plans to impact youth in my community.

I graduated from UC Davis, but I found that getting a degree and being responsible weren’t enough to get me where I wanted to go. A friend who knew I was interested in public health told me about the Health Coach program.

Through Health Coach, I had the opportunity and mentorship to develop my skills and get experience, which opened doors for me to work at UCSF and now at Alameda Health System.
